Adding content to the hub

Bring in a video, course, podcast or document from its address on the web.

Written by Customer Service Learninghubz

All content enters the hub by its address (URL). The content itself stays where it is hosted; the hub presents it, tracks who watched it, and adds a summary, a quiz and ratings around it.

  1. Click Admin and, under Content Management, open Add.

  2. Choose the type: Video, Course, Podcast or Document.

  3. Paste the URL into the field.

  4. Save.

Which type to choose

  • Video — a YouTube or Vimeo video.

  • Course — a full online course, including SCORM and HTML packages. See Publishing a SCORM or HTML course.

  • Podcast — an audio episode.

  • Document — a PDF, a presentation or any other document reachable by URL.

There is no file upload

Content has to be reachable at an address the hub can open. Google Drive, SharePoint and Dropbox will not work — they download the file instead of opening it as a page. If you have a file and nowhere to host it, send it to [email protected].

Editing or removing something later

Open the content and use Admin › This Video › Edit Video. The same menu holds Manage Quiz and Report for that item.

What to do next

A new piece of content is more useful with a quiz on it — that is what turns a view into evidence of completion. See Creating a quiz for a piece of content.
