Playlists and Learning Paths

Put content in an order so people work through it as a course rather than a pile.

Written by Customer Service Learninghubz

A playlist — a learning path — is a sequence of content on one subject, in the order you want it taken. It is how you turn six loose videos into something that feels like a course.

Creating one

  1. Click Admin and, under Content Management, open Add › Playlist / Learning Path.

  2. Give it a title and a cover image.

  3. Add the content, and group it into sections if the path has stages.

  4. Save.

The content has to be in the hub already. Add anything missing first — see Adding content to the hub.

Sections

Sections are what make a long path readable. "Before you start", "The basics", "Going further" tells someone where they are; twelve items in a row does not.

Assigning it

A playlist can be assigned like any other content, with a due date and marked as mandatory. Open it and use Assign. Progress is then tracked through the whole path in the Training Dashboard.

Quizzes on a path

Quizzes sit on individual pieces of content, not on the path as a whole. For a path you want to certify, put a quiz on the final item — see Creating a quiz for a piece of content.

A playlist or a page?

Use a playlist when order matters and you want completion tracked. Use a page when people should browse freely.
